The Mediblue Freedom PPO plans offer very low copays for Dr. visits, Diagnostic testing and prescription drugs. You will not require a referral to see a specialist with any Mediblue PPO or HMO. The PPO plans can be used nationally through the Blue Cross network. The HMO option can only be used locally. If you are looking for good quality low cost medicare insurance in the NY downstate area, Empire Mediblue is worth looking into. It is not the lowest cost option in every county but it does provide an excellent provider network and no referrals to see a specialist. Included with most plans is the Silver Sneakers Gym membership and preventative dental. If your not looking to spend upwards of $300 per month for medicare supplement insurance, Empire Mediblue is a great low cost alternative.
